All Star Painting. Last updated 8 October 2026.
About this policy
All Star Painting (we, us and our) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and share personal information when you visit www.allstarpainting.com.au, request a quote, contact us or use our painting services.
We handle personal information in accordance with this policy and the Australian privacy laws that apply to our business, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles where applicable. You can ask us for a free copy of this policy.
Information we collect
We collect information reasonably needed to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, carry out work and manage our business. Depending on your dealings with us, this may include:
- Your name, telephone number, email address, business name and billing details.
- Your suburb, property address, project requirements, site measurements, colour choices, scheduling preferences and relevant access instructions.
- Information and photographs you provide about the property, and site photographs or notes needed to assess, document or complete the work.
- Quotes, contracts, invoices, payment records, correspondence, feedback, warranty enquiries and complaints.
- Website information such as your IP address, browser, device, pages visited, referral source and interactions with our website.
Please provide only information relevant to your enquiry or project. We do not ordinarily need sensitive information, such as health information, to provide a painting quote.
How we collect information
We usually collect information directly from you through quote forms, telephone calls, emails, text messages, site visits and discussions about your project. We may also receive relevant information from a property owner, tenant, real estate agent, strata manager, builder or another person authorised to arrange the work.
If you provide someone else's details, please ensure you are authorised to do so and let them know about this policy. We also collect technical website information through the technologies described below.
You can make general enquiries without identifying yourself where practicable. We usually need contact and property details to arrange a site visit, provide a personalised quote or carry out work. Without necessary information, we may be unable to provide those services.
How we use information
We use relevant information to respond to enquiries, assess and price work, arrange access, schedule and complete projects, communicate progress, process payments and manage invoices. We also use it to handle warranties, feedback and complaints, maintain business records, protect our systems, improve our services and meet legal obligations.
We may follow up your enquiry or quote. Marketing communications are handled as described below. We seek consent for unrelated uses of your personal information where required by law.
Who we share information with
We may share relevant information with:
- Staff, subcontractors and tradespeople who need it to quote, schedule or perform your work.
- Suppliers or delivery providers where needed to supply materials or services for your project.
- Your authorised property manager, agent, builder, strata representative or another person involved in arranging the work.
- Providers supporting our website, enquiry forms, email, IT, accounting, payments and other business administration.
- Professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts or authorities where reasonably necessary and lawful.
We limit sharing to what is needed for the relevant purpose and require appropriate confidentiality and privacy protections from service providers. We do not sell your personal information. Property access instructions are shared only with people who need them for the work.
Property photographs
We may use site photographs to prepare quotes, record existing conditions, document progress and completion, or deal with a warranty or dispute. These images are treated as project records where they identify you or your property.
We seek permission before using photographs of your property for our website, social media or advertising. We avoid including people, street numbers, vehicle number plates, personal documents or other identifying details unless specifically authorised. Agreeing to painting work does not automatically authorise promotional use of your photographs or personal details.
Cookies and website tracking
Our website uses Google Tag Manager to manage website tags. Cookies, server logs and similar technologies can support website functionality, security, analytics and advertising measurement, depending on the tools enabled.
The services active on this website are:
- Google Analytics (Google) measures how the website is used: pages viewed, referral source, device, browser and approximate location. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Google Ads (Google) measures whether our ads lead to website visits, calls and quote requests, and can show our ads to people who have visited the website. When you arrive from one of our ads, the phone number shown may be a Google forwarding number, so a call can be matched to the ad. You can manage ad personalisation in Google's My Ad Center.
- Search Atlas is a website optimisation service. It receives the address of the page you are viewing and can adjust page titles, descriptions and similar page details.
- Cloudflare hosts the website, protects it against attacks and measures page performance (Cloudflare Web Analytics). It also processes the quote form, which is sent to us by email.
Website data may include IP addresses, device and cookie identifiers, pages viewed, referral sources and actions such as submitting a quote request or clicking a telephone link. This information is not necessarily anonymous. Third-party providers may process information under their own privacy policies.
You can manage cookies through your browser and use the available provider privacy controls. Disabling cookies may affect some features and may not stop every form of tracking. Where consent is required, we seek it separately; visiting our website does not give blanket consent to every use of your information.
Marketing preferences
We send promotional emails or text messages only where we have the consent required by law. You can stop receiving marketing by using the unsubscribe option or contacting us. We action email and SMS unsubscribe requests within five working days. You may still receive necessary messages about an enquiry, quote, booked work, invoice or warranty, without promotional content.
Storage and security
We hold information in business devices, email, electronic systems and, where used, paper records. Information may also be held by service providers supporting our business. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration, including restricting access and protecting our records and systems.
If a data breach occurs, we assess it, take steps to contain it and notify affected people and regulators where legally required. Please contact us promptly if you believe your information has been mishandled.
Information handled overseas
Some of the providers we use store or process information outside Australia:
- Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads, and the Gmail inbox that receives quote requests) may store and process website usage data and the details you enter in the quote form outside Australia.
- Cloudflare runs a global network, so website traffic and quote form submissions may pass through servers outside Australia.
- Search Atlas receives the addresses of pages viewed and may process them outside Australia.
Where information is disclosed overseas, we take the steps required by applicable Australian privacy law and seek appropriate protections from relevant providers. This policy does not, by itself, amount to your consent to an overseas disclosure.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for its purpose, including managing your project, warranties, accounts, tax records, insurance matters and legal obligations. Different records may have different retention periods. When information is no longer needed and retention is not required, we take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it. We cannot delete records we are legally required to retain.
Access and correction
You can contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct it. We may need to verify your identity or a representative's authority. We aim to respond within 30 calendar days and explain any delay.
There is no charge to make a request or ask for a correction. If a reasonable fee for providing access is permitted and necessary, we will explain it before proceeding. If we decline a request, we explain our reasons and available complaint options, subject to any legal restriction.
